The brief
The island ferry ran on a PDF timetable that nobody could read on a windy pier. People missed boats and called the office to complain.
What I did
I spent two days at the harbour watching people check times, then built the app around one question: when is the next boat from here? Big type, high contrast, and a timetable that is cached so it works with no signal.
What changed
Missed-boat complaints fell by 38% in the first summer, and the office now answers half as many calls.
